CEDAR HILL COMMUNITY CHURCH
CEDAR HILL COMMUNITY CHURCH
PASTOR WAYNE & MARY LOU LAWTON
Wayne & Mary Lou Lawton met at Central College in McPherson , KS. They were married September 4, 1958. Each of their two daughters gave birth to five children and homeschooled them from kindergarten through 12th grade. Five of them are now married and there are six great grandchildren. Wayne & Mary Lou each came to Christ in their teen years. Wayne is a graduate of Eastern Mennonite University and Seminary and pastored in Free Methodist churches for 30 years. Both of their lives were touched through the East African Revival and they discovered the way of walking in daily victory with Jesus Christ. Wayne accepted the pastorate of Cedar Hill Church in 2001, so in August of 2021 he will celebrate 20 years of ministry in this congregation. One unique aspect of ministry for the Lawton's has been reaching out to men & women who have been incarcerated and they have seen several come to Christ - and affiliate with the Cedar Hill Church.
Cedar Hill Church is all about knowing JESUS CHRIST and fellowshipping with HIM and with each other. We meet each Sunday morning at 10 a.m. in the beautiful Prayer Hub at Doug Lamb Construction Company, 1180 Zeager Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Midweek prayer is held in homes where we are welcomed. Wayne is active in the local Elizabethtown Ministerium and participates in community events such as Easter and Thanksgiving and the social aspects of ministry offered by the Community Place on Washington (CPOW) and summer evangelistic events in the Elizabethtown Community Park.
